Immature Bald Eagle This young raptor sits motionless, its talons gripping the branch tightly. Now and then, it shifts, adjusting its balance, its hooked beak catching the light. We stood in quiet admiration, knowing that this juvenile would transform into the unmistakable symbol of the American wilderness in a few years, its dark plumage giving way to the striking contrast of black and white. Without the stark white head and tail of an adult, it has a raw, untamed look—its sharp eyes scanning the landscape below. But for now, it remains a shadowy sentinel, mastering the lessons of the wild. You can order prints and products directly from this site or through my Pixels/Fine Art America page.
